December 1st - 5th

We will be collecting items for the Drive Away Hunger Challenge sponsored by Darrell Waltrip to send to families in need through GraceWorks, the Well, and One Generation Away agencies.

Each item brought in will be counted and the grade level that has the most items will receive a pizza party sponsored by PTO!

Critical need items: Hearty canned meals, peanut butter, pasta and pasta sauce, canned chicken/tuna/ instant potatoes, boxed meals and side items, cereals, pudding cups

December 1st to December 12th we will collect CandyGrams! Want to send a teacher, class or friend a CandyGram? Simply fill out the CandyGrams and CandyGram order form and return them to school with your money. Your CandyGrams will be delivered to classrooms on December 5th and 12th. Parents can volunteer to do CandyGram Assistance here!

On Smoothie Wednesdays, Jamba Juice offers smoothies to our students. Students can choose from Strawberry, Banana, or Peach Mango for $4 each. They come with a straw and lid, so students can take them to class. They are a huge hit, and sell out fast! Volunteer information here.

To pre-pay for smoothies, send a Venmo to @Lauren-Perry-21 by 9pm Tuesday night with your child's name, and they can pick up Wednesday morning. Cash is also accepted.

December 19th to January 2nd No School - Winter Break. We wish all the Wildcats and their families a joyful and restful winter break!

December 18th is a half day before Winter Break starts

As announced in the July 24th edition of InFocus, Winstead has a new kiosk for parent sign-in!

Visitors to Williamson County schools will need to go through a slightly different process when entering a school building this year. A new visitor check in system was piloted at several schools last year, and based on the success of the pilot, it will be implemented across the district in 25-26.

As always, all visitors will need their driver's license or photo ID to enter the building. (Must have physical ID, not a picture on your phone.) 

After entering the front office, visitors will stop at the kiosk and click "Visitors" to start the process:

1. Click "Check In" and take a photo. After taking the photo, click "Close."
2. Hold the driver's license in front of the camera located on the back of the iPad and take a photo. Flip the driver's license over to scan the bar code.

3. Select the destination.

4. Click "Check In" one final time to print a visitor badge.
